What is hypnotherapy?

What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind allowing you to be open to positive suggestions that can improve your life.          The hypnotic state is the most favorable state for making changes in your life.
You can set aside limiting beliefs that may be preventing you from moving toward a more healthy and happy you.


What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis, and the mind's own natural abilities, to resolve issues, relieve emotional burdens and achieve personal goals. It's not like the hypnotism you see portrayed in cartoons or on stage. It is a safe, effective process that leaves you feeling refreshed and motivated. In just a few customized, confidential sessions, negative patterns of thought and behavior can be eliminated once and for all by removing the root cause through hypnosis.

Is Hypnosis Safe?
Yes. We naturally enter a state of hypnosis just before falling asleep and before being fully awake.  Many of us have experienced "highway" hypnosis - when we reach a destination and don't recall part of the journey.

I'm Worried About Being Out of Control. Will I tell my deepest secrets? Can you make me do something I wouldn't consciously do?
You are in complete control during the entire session.  You will not give away any secrets or personal information as you are fully aware of what you are thinking and saying during the hypnosis state.  Hypnotherapy is based on the value of positive behavioral change.  You have full awareness and cannot be made to do anything that would be against your values, morals or beliefs.  I are dedicated to helping you feel better, solve problems, and invest in yourself.

Who Can Be Hypnotized?  What is Kappasian Hypnosis?
Anyone of normal intelligence who can follow basic instructions and chooses can be hypnotized. Hypnosis cannot be done against a person’s will.   It is safe and effective for adults, teenagers and children.  Kappasinian Hypnosis is based on the theory that everyone is suggestible to something and thus hypnotizable.  It recognizes there are two distinct types or suggestibility - physical or emotional stimuli or any combination of the two.  In order for hypnosis to work for most people, Kappasinian therapists are trained in identifying your type of suggestibility.  The other component for success is you have to want the suggestion e.g. quit smoking, lose weight, be more active, decrease or eliminate anxiety or depression, stop snacking or emotional eating. The bottom line is you have to be open and receptive. 

How Long Will It Take?
Each client and the issues they bring are unique so there is no definite amount of sessions, but for permanent change, most issues can be resolved in 5-6 sessions. Some issues are resolved in just 1 session. Sessions are an hour long.  The first session (intake) will be approximately 1.5 to 2 hours (sometimes longer depending on the issue(s). The intake session includes gathering information, completion of forms and a hypnosis session.

What If I Can’t Come Out of Hypnosis?
It is impossible to get "stuck" in hypnosis. You are awake, aware, and in control the whole time.

I Don't Need to Lose Weight or Stop Smoking. What else is Hypnosis good for?
Hypnosis has so many uses and possibilities! It can help with stress relief and management, sleep problems, depression, nail biting, anxiety, lack of focus, confidence, sports/academic performance, improve study habits and test anxiety, excessive fears, teeth grinding and/or clenching, grief, and much more.


The hypnotic state is an optimum state for making changes in your life.
