Change:What tools do you have in your tool box?

In this post I want to talk about what tools you can use to help you make the changes and decisions you face in your life. My dear soul sister, Brenda, calls the things you need to navigate life with "your tools in your toolbox". I love that. What tools do you have in your tool box that help you navigate life? Today, I will give you some ideas of tools I use, enough so you think about the tools in your toolbox and may decide what you want to research and learn more about. If you have questions feel free to contact me too.

Here's a list of just a few things I use in my life that work with different aspects including the mind, body, spirit, emotional facets of your life. I teach a number of these techniques in my coaching practice.

  • Prayer: Are you familiar with what is called "the change me prayer"?

  • Nature walk: For me there is nothing as refreshing as taking a walk in nature

  • Exercise: whether I like it or not my physical body needs to move to maintain its wellness

  • Young Living Essential Oils Lifestyle:

  • Meditation: my mind needs to quiet itself, to rest so that the body can return to homeostasis (the tendency of a physical body to maintain internal stability, through a coordinated response of its parts to anything that would disturb its normal condition or function.)

  • Yoga: There are numerous ways to define yoga, this one resonates for me. a spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, is widely practiced for health and relaxation.

  • EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or tapping: EFT, is the mental acupressure technique used to optimize emotional health. Emotional health is absolutely essential to your physical health and healing - no matter how devoted you are to the proper diet and lifestyle, you will not achieve your body's ideal healing and preventative powers if emotional barriers stand in your way.

  • Hypnotherapy: Hypnosis is a natural state of mind allowing you to be open to positive suggestions that can improve your life. The hypnotic state is the most favorable state for making changes in your life. You can set aside limiting beliefs that may be preventing you from moving toward a more healthy and happy you.

  • Religious practices: Religion is a cultural system of behaviors and practices, world views, sacred texts, holy places, ethics and societal organization that relate humanity to what one person has called "an order of existence". ... Traditionally, faith, has been considered a source of religious beliefs.

  • Spiritual practices: Spirituality is very personal. Spirituality is about living with the awareness of the Holy Spirit in a deep relationship with yourself — the self that is both created by and connected to God. We often walk in two worlds, the world of Spirit and our earthly existence. When you connect your spirit from a place of knowing, you are then guided by a higher wisdom. This energy is fueled by love and compassion, gratitude and growth.

  • Skills building: Skills development is the process of (1) identifying your skill gaps, and (2) developing and honing these skills. It is important because your skills determine your ability to execute your plans with success.

  • Mentoring: Mentoring is to support and encourage people to manage their own learning in order that they may maximize their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be.

  • Coaching: Coaching is a useful way of developing a person's skills and abilities, and of boosting performance. It can also help deal with issues and challenges before they become major problems.

  • The process of life visioning and intention setting: Life visioning is a trans-formative process for activating your unique gifts and highest potential. Setting intentions involves our intuition based on our life vision. It requires an awareness of our inner desires, the stirring of our heart and soul. It is about bringing ourselves into alignment with a desired or "preferred" life. It also is about addressing our resistances. Inner work may be required when we observe that we are out-of-alignment with what we desire. It is an ongoing process based on our ongoing experiences, a process that naturally unfolds as we evolve.

Resources of knowledge and wisdom: I love the internet because you have so much access to information and knowledge. But be careful because some of it can lead you away from wisdom. The dictionary defines wisdom as knowledge of what is true or right, coupled with just judgment as to action; sagacity, discernment, or insight. (Don't you just love it when the definition gives you another word you need to look up?).
